Welcome to the State of Israel Bonds
Welcome to the State of Israel Bonds
Development Company for Israel (UK) Ltd, trading as State of Israel Bonds UK, was established in 1981 in response to a growing need for local UK representation of Israel Bonds. We are a UK registered company, offering securities issued by the State of Israel and are regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), which regulates the financial services industry in the UK.

Israel Bonds are securities issued by the State of Israel to help build the nation's infrastructure. Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, established the Israel Bonds program in 1951, as a means of providing Israel with then-urgently needed economic support. Israel was economically devastated by the War of Independence; immigrants were living in primitive shelters; food was rationed, and an economic infrastructure was practically non-existent. Rebuffed by Wall Street, Prime Minister Ben-Gurion established Israel Bonds as a means of raising economic capital through the sale of State of Israel securities.

Today, Israel Bonds sales have funded major infrastructure projects such as the desalination plant in Ashkelon, the recently inaugurated Terminal 3 at the Ben Gurion International Airport and the cross Israel Highway 6. Additional projects such as the Jerusalem light railway, further development of national rail routes, new electrical power stations and new industrial parks in the Negev and the Galilee are also being funded by Israel Bonds and your investment.
Sales
When the first Israel Bonds were sold in 1951, sales for the year were $52 million. It took almost a decade to reach the first billion. Today, world-wide sales of Israel Bonds routinely surpass $1 billion per year, and total sales have now surpassed $26 billion. In the UK, sales of Israel Bonds have increased tenfold in the last four years, reaching a record $100 million in 2004. Currently only in the USA and Canada are more Israel Bonds sold which make the UK a prime contributor worldwide.
Investment Grade
Israel has been given ‘investment grade’ credit ratings by both Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s, of A2 and A- respectively. Moreover, all Israel Bonds are backed by the full faith and credit of the State of Israel, which since its inception, has met every payment of principal and interest on time and in full.
